The Gremlin
A short story about the darker side of our inner critic
It begins to stir, rustling the leaves under it limbs. It writhes and shifts, bringing awareness to its new surroundings.
Arms, gangly and hairy, extend outwards and red eyes illuminate the dark of the night. A menacing grin steals across its face. It sucks in a new breath life and rasps out a laugh. It's alive, once again.

I see shadows everywhere, Memories and What-Ifs.
The circle of life, and society reminding me what the job description of each chapter should be, but they don't suit me.
I feel like I belong elsewhere,
Like Alice chasing that rabbit into wonderland, trying to find myself.

The Dare To Try
A short story reminder to find what brings you calm
She takes her first deep breath, beginning her trek into the dark woods. Another day of life running its course. These woods represented freedom and vastness. Anything she wanted to be; she could be.
As shadows cast over every tree, rock and foreign object in this new landscape. Navigating this environment in a new color scheme is also a reminder of loneliness and fear of the unknown; called tomorrow.
